Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Sinergy app and website (sinergy.app), operated by Sinergy Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). It describes how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use the Platform.
By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the Platform and contact us if you'd like your data removed.
What We Collect
We collect three kinds of information:
A. Information you give us directly

C. Information from third parties
- If you sign up using Apple, Google, or another OAuth provider, we receive basic profile data from that provider (name, email, profile picture) as permitted by their policies.
- If you refer a friend, we may log that referral relationship to manage invite priority.
Sensitive Personal Data
As a dating and social platform, we necessarily handle sensitive personal data. This includes:
- Religious or philosophical beliefs (e.g., joining the Catholic community)
- Health or fitness information (e.g., joining a nutrition or CrossFit community)
- Sexual orientation or romantic preference (implicitly, through your match intent settings)
- Biometric data (liveness verification photos used to prevent fake accounts — deleted after verification)
We collect this data only to operate the Platform. We handle it with extra care: it is not sold, it is not used for advertising, and you can delete it at any time by deleting your account.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Run the Platform: Create your account, serve your profile, power the quiz system and matching algorithm, deliver messages.
- Improve the product: Understand how people use Sinergy, fix bugs, test new features, and optimize quiz content and matching quality.
- Keep you safe: Detect fraud, bots, and abusive behavior. Enforce our Terms of Use. Respond to reports.
- Communicate with you: Send you notifications about matches, account events, or important policy updates. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
- Process payments: Handle purchases of premium features securely through our payment processor.
- Comply with law: Respond to valid legal requests, enforce our policies, and protect our legal rights.
We will not use your data for purposes materially different from those listed above without first informing you and, where required by law, obtaining your consent.
Who We Share Your Information With
We share your data with:
- Other users of the Platform: Your profile (name, photos, communities, levels) is visible to other users within your match settings. Messages are delivered to their recipients.
- Service providers: Vendors who help us run Sinergy — cloud hosting, payment processing, push notifications, email delivery, analytics, and fraud detection. They may access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
- Law enforcement / legal process: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
- Business transfers: If Sinergy is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you and give you the option to delete your account before any such transfer if possible.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
AI & Algorithms
Sinergy uses AI and machine learning in several ways:
- Matching: Our algorithm uses your verified communities, levels, and behavioral signals to calculate a synergy score with other users. No human manually assigns your matches.
- Conversation assistance: Optional AI features that suggest conversation starters or first messages. These features use your shared community data to generate suggestions. You are never required to use them.
- Anti-spam & safety: ML models analyze message patterns to detect bots, scams, and abusive behavior in real time.
- Quiz content generation: We may use AI to assist in generating or expanding quiz question banks. All quiz content is reviewed for quality before use.
We do not use AI to rank users by physical attractiveness. This is a firm principle, not a temporary policy.
Decisions that materially affect your account (such as a ban) are reviewed by a human if you appeal them.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- Your profile is removed from the matching pool immediately.
- Your profile data (photos, bio, communities) is deleted within 30 days.
- Your messages are deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required for a pending safety investigation or legal obligation.
- Aggregated, anonymized usage data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for product research.
- Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable financial regulations (typically 7 years).
Liveness verification images (used to confirm your photo is real) are deleted immediately after verification is complete.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls limiting who inside Sinergy can access sensitive data, and regular security reviews.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@sinergy.app immediately.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law, within 72 hours of discovery where required by regulation.
Your Rights
You have meaningful control over your data. Here's what you can do:
Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correct
Update or correct inaccurate data in your account settings.
Delete
Request deletion of your account and personal data.
Export
Request a portable copy of your data in a common format.
Object
Object to certain processing activities, such as profiling.
Opt out
Opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@sinergy.app or use the privacy tools in your account settings. We will respond within 30 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the CPRA:
- Right to know: You may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, and the purposes for which we use it.
- Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. You do not need to opt out because we do not engage in these practices.
- Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: You may direct us to limit our use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Platform.
To submit a verifiable consumer request, email privacy@sinergy.app with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.
You may authorize an agent to submit requests on your behalf. We will require verification of both your identity and the agent's authorization.
Children's Privacy
Sinergy is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete that data and terminate the account immediately. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it to safety@sinergy.app.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this Privacy Policy as the Platform evolves. For minor changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes (such as new data uses or new sharing practices), we'll notify you via email or an in-app alert at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
Your continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
